From the recording MY MUSEUM
8. Two Solitudes - this tune definitely evokes a very particular time and place for me, in it’s production (and reverb settings). Definitely an all midi-based track from Ben and I, except for my vocals and Darmon Meader’s sweet sax playing. Based on a Rilke poem of the same name, this is my groovy soul bossa nova love song. It was inspired by Stevie Wonder’s moody, harmonically sexy ‘Creepin’ (which I’ve been obsessed with since I was very young). And it seems I may have been listening to a lot of Luther Vandross at the time I recorded the vocals (!?).
