February 2026

Hello out there, cyber universe –

First of all, thank you for stopping by my website. Contained herein is all sorts of hearty information regarding current creative projects, upcoming recordings, concert appearances, midnight ‘musings’ (no not really), that sort of thing. I hope you are able to attend a performance soon and we can say hello to each other. Among a lot of other life activities, the group I’ve been a part of for decades, New York Voices, is riding off into the sunset as a
collective at the end of 2026. We’ve been a group for well over thirty years (which is just insane– time flies folks!) and decided we wanted to hang up our microphones while we’re still sounding pretty good, not just resting on any laurels from the past. The response to our ‘retirement’ has been heartfelt and intensely sweet – it seems there are many people from various parts of the world who have been genuinely affected by all the years NYV has been
making music together, and the variety of ways the group has impacted their lives. A lot of very
powerful admissions, not taken for granted for a second – thank you so much. Besides all the concerts we have coming up throughout the year, the Voices have been recording so much new material as well – a live concert recorded in Los Angeles of mostly Brazilian tunes, a studio project with the incredible composer Ivan Lins and the Danish Radio Big Band (recorded years ago but finally seeing the light of day as a release), a new studio project with the wonderful Taipei Jazz Orchestra recorded this past Fall, as well as some new (or older but never recorded)
repertoire written and/or arranged by New York Voices with a probable Fall 2026 release. NYV also has its final Vocal Jazz Camps (domestic and international) this coming summer – they are well over-sold out, but you never know if a spot will still open up as the dates get closer., so maybe you could come too. We’re definitely going out with a bang and not a whimper, as the expression goes. But again, we’re hitting the road hard the rest of the year so hope to see YOU at some point during this epic ‘Grand Finale’.

From a solo perspective, I’ve been slowly but surely putting an album’s worth of my original music together with the hope of an early 2027 release – as this point in time it feels like an album of songs for voices, piano, strings (and a couple rhythm section tracks too), featuring a variety of super special guests – some of the special guests include Voces8, MOSS, New York Voices, and some very special solo voices as well. Hopefully I’ll eek out some precious time to keep up with it so things stay on track. I am excited beyond words at what’s been recorded so
far and can’t wait to share it with the world at large.

My second fulltime job is spending time as Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music, now in my 13 th year (I think). I teach many crazy-talented young musicians and that never stops being gratifying and fun most of the time. Songwriting, Song reinvention, private voice and piano. It’s a lot of concentration and I put in weekly long days, but I love when a student discovers something new in their talent and the ‘lightbulb goes off’ in terms of creativity or expression.

Thanks again for stopping by – I’m going to try and add material to this site more often as projects and new music develop and get released, so please come back again soon. And join the mailing list, order charts or cds (remember those?) and do covers of my tunes . . . . that would be terribly cool.

Thanks again – try to stay as strong as possible during the very challenging time we are living in
–Peter
