1. In My Own Time – written in the late 90’s. I was seeing life fly by and feeling a bit frustrated by my progress (or lack thereof) and watching others establish themselves so confidently, and felt the need to write a song to validate my own journey. I was also listening to a lot of my favorite acoustic singer/songwriters of the time which inspired the tone and instrumentation. Recorded at Acoustic Recording in Brooklyn, NY. The track features the amazing Jon Herrington on guitars, Brian Mitchell on accordion and my hero Tim Lefevbre on bass (with Ben Wittman on drums of course). IN MY OWN TIME (music/lyrics- Peter Eldridge)
Peter Eldridge - vocals
Jon Herington - guitars
Tim Lefebvre - bass
Brian Mitchell - accordion
Ben Wittman - drums
Co-produced by Ben Wittman and Peter Eldridge

Lyrics

MY OWN TIME

No fanfare for me
I’m unfashionably late in the game
No rolling out red carpets
Still I’m eager to celebrate
I’m gonna celebrate

There are those who take a little longer just to reach the starting line

I will get there when I get there
In my own time
I will get there when I get there
All in good time
I will get there when I get there
And in my own time

Tying up all these loose ends
That were stringing me along
Tying up all these loose ends
Turn them into a rope so strong
To carry me along

No one’s gonna tell me when to give it up or when to settle down
I’ll go kicking and screaming

I will get there when I get there
In my own time
I will get there when I get there
All in good time
I will get there when I get there
And in my own time

To me the biggest crime
Is just to fade away without saying all you hoped to say
No one’s gonna tell me when to give it up
No One’s gonna tell me when to give it up
There are those who take a little longer just to hit the starting line

(chorus repeats)
